Due to COVID-19 and the potential delay in surgeries from our veterinary partners, it is advised to contact the vets listed below, ask what their fees are for voucher surgeries, and make an appointment with the one that you'd like to go to. It is advised that you purchase the voucher about a week before your appointment. 

Spay and Neuter Vouchers

 

The Hayward Animal Shelter Volunteers offer low-cost Spay and Neuter Vouchers to Hayward residents. Vouchers are available for purchase at the Hayward Animal Shelter during open Shelter Hours.

Vouchers are non-returnable, non-refundable, and cannot be replaced. 


Effective October 1, 2014, low-cost vouchers cost:

 
Cats (male or female)                     $75

 Dogs (male)                                       $100

 Dogs (female up to 40 lbs)            $150

 Dogs (female 40-65 lbs)                $175

 Dogs (female over 65 lbs)             $200

What is covered by the low-cost spay/neuter voucher?

The voucher covers the spay/neuter surgery. 

If there are extra fees applied for additional services and medications required by surgery and/or authorized by the customer, then the customer is responsible for payment of these fees directly to the veterinary clinic. (For example, office visit, initial exam, in heat/pregnant, cryptorchid,  vaccinations, dental work, blood work, E-collar, and pain medication.

Offers discounted Pit Fix for pit bulls or pit bull mixes living in Alameda or Contra Costa counties at $50 per dog no matter the sex. Chihuahuas – fixed for $50-70.
