Hayward Animal Services offers free humane education to students in the Hayward School District! We also offer educational shelter tours to girl & boy scout troops, service groups, and schools.

What are the benefits of humane education?

By assisting in the development of a sense of responsibility, stewardship, and self-esteem, humane education helps students grow into confident, capable citizens.

  • Encourages values such as compassion, respect, empathy, and inclusion.

  • Informs children of career pathways and experience building opportunities in the field of animal welfare.

  • Teaches children how to be responsible pet owners.
