Stop by the shelter before Valentine’s Day to pick up our custom Valentine’s Day cards for your child’s classmates! Featuring adorable adoptable (and recently adopted) animals from HASB, these unique cards are sure to make everyone smile.
And don’t forget to celebrate with us on February 14! If you’re looking to adopt, join us for our All Fur Love Adoption Event, or bring your own pet by for sweet photos at our Valentine’s “kissing booth.” It’s the perfect way to share the love this Valentine’s Day!

Get ready to dust off your Santa suits! SantaCon Hayward, an annual tradition orchestrated by Anna May and her dedicated team of volunteers, is gearing up to bring festive cheer and community spirit to Downtown Hayward once again.
While historically known as a "bar crawl," SantaCon Hayward has evolved into a beloved community event that combines holiday fun with a powerful mission. The event's success is fueled by Downtown Hayward businesses that generously donate money to HASB to become registered stops along the route.
The best part? All money raised during SantaCon goes directly towards sponsoring dog adoptions at HASB.
Participants can enjoy a variety of food options along the route, and businesses also offer creative and delicious mocktails for those who prefer non-alcoholic beverages.

Join us for the Hayward Animal Shelter's "Home for the Holidays" adoption event on December 13th from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM!
Thanks to the generosity of Santacon Hayward, adoptions will be $0 for qualified homes! * (A $17 license fee for City of Hayward residents and some exclusions apply).
